“The toe cap is based on the toe cap that Shaolin warriors wear, but with a twist that comes from the shape of a classic pair of Etnies.” When you perform ollie tricks, catch Casper dropouts, or even slide your knees on vert ramps, the tip gets a lot of wear. A strong, durable toe on my shoe is pretty much at the top of my “must have” list.
Why is the forest green? This design is a quiet homage to where I grew up, White Rock, British Columbia. A boreal forest, with dark trees and cloudy days, is where I spent most of my days skating before moving to Venice Beach, California. This color makes me think of the house, the clouds and the gorge I lived next to. Every day I walked under the trees and looked at the sky. I would pick up my board and dirty my shoes on the way to school, the skate park, or even the coffee shop. The forest is a place where I can relax.
I've wanted to have an Etnies shoe for years. Dreams come true!” —Andy Wilson
